Monica (Farrow) Booker was born and reared in uptown Washington, D.C., in her father’s family home. She is the sole daughter of Monica (Pollard) and Robert Farrow, Jr. (deceased). She attended weekly services at her family’s church, Bethel Commandment Church of the Living God, Inc., which was erected by her paternal grandfather, Bishop Farrow, Sr., and the family members. She began an intimate relationship with the Lord when she received the Holy Ghost at the impressionable age of 12. 

In the summer of 1998, she moved from Washington, D.C., to a small town in New Jersey. She later graduated from high school and went away to college. After college, she began to take on a poetic name of Sista Testa Monet, but hid it in her journal. As Monica entered young adulthood, she had many ups and downs, but she married and took her husband's name, becoming Monica Booker. A few years later, Monica became a mother, and her daughter is also into the arts as she’s learning ballet.

She was encouraged by many, including her then-husband, to write a poetry book. Monica began performing her pieces in one congregation, restaurants, and various open mics. Monica is now a mother, totally immersed in the arts, playing the drums at church. Monica plays the drums at church; she is a percussionist, and she plays the set. Monica’s maternal grandmother played the piano along with her mother, Mrs. Farrow, and her uncle. At one point, Monica took up dancing like her maternal aunt. As of late, she maintained an amicable separation and is now a divorced author who continues to journal her life experiences in ink.
